Unified Name: European Ash
Growing areal: It grows in much of Europe especially in the European-Caucasian part, from the plains to the mountain belt.
Environment: It commonly grows and spreads in forests and requires deep, humus-rich, moist soil.
Trunk; logs and tissues: The trunks grow straight and can reach 30 m. or more, with a diameter of up to 1-1.5 m. Ash wood features striped and flamed fibres with a yellowish hue. It is known for its beautiful and elegant grain, which makes it very refined.
