The new regulatory framework introduced by the Consumer Code strengthens the requirements for transparency and verifiability of environmental communications. Sustainability-related claims must be precise, understandable and supported by objective evidence, avoiding generic or potentially misleading statements.

In response to this recent regulatory update, Cadorin has begun a compliance process, working with accredited certification bodies to align its environmental communications with the new requirements. This commitment reinforces our professional ethics and makes it possible to verify the attention that has always guided our production choices.

We believe that the environment and the ecosystem in which we live play an important role in our quality of life. We are aware that respecting nature, caring for living spaces and making conscious choices can contribute to people’s well-being and to environmental protection.

Green building is an approach to design and construction focused on the responsible use of resources, the protection of ecosystems and the quality of living environments. Its roots lie in tradition, with the use of materials available in nature, such as timber from forests, stone, earth and straw. Today, this approach favours durable materials of natural origin, while also considering their potential for recovery, recycling or biodegradation in relation to their composition and intended use.

A thoughtfully designed home, properly built and made with suitable materials can help reduce resource consumption, protect the environment and improve the comfort of indoor spaces.

Our commitment continues with the aim of documenting and making measurable the principles that guide Cadorin’s production. Our collections are the result of production processes developed with particular attention to the origin and enhancement of wood as a raw material, to the adhesives and finishes used, as well as to the documented use of energy from renewable sources.

Wood is a natural and versatile material that has always been part of human life. Lightness, workability and good thermal properties are some of the characteristics that make it suitable for customised, functional and aesthetically refined solutions. It is capable of adapting to the needs of architecture and design, while contributing to the perceived quality and comfort of living spaces.

With CADORIN, consumers can learn about and evaluate the wood species, components, structures and finishes that characterise their chosen parquet flooring.

For this purpose, CADORIN has developed a plank rating, an internal evaluation system that takes into account specific and documentable characteristics relating to the selection and origin of the wood, as well as to the structure of the plank.

The combination of the characteristics considered determines a star rating for each parquet floor.

1. LOCAL SOURCING in relation to the Cadorin production site (within 1,000 km): contributing to a reduction in CO₂ emissions.

2. Sourcing from FSC® Chains of Custody: supporting forest sustainability.

3. ANTIQUE WOOD: recovered from old structural beams from decommissioned buildings, it is carefully selected and reused to preserve its history and extend its life cycle, helping to avoid the felling of additional trees.

Unlike SELECT grades, which exclude part of the wood during the selection process, NATUR enhances the authentic characteristics of the raw material, transforming each plank into a high-quality product, enriched by our premium textured finishes.

► the PLANK STRUCTURE

THREE-LAYER*: a structure featuring a supporting layer made of Spruce and Larch sourced LOCALLY, within 150–300 km of the Cadorin production site (*reduction in CO₂ emissions), or wood sourced from a distance of 300–500 km, in a RUSTIC grade derived from selections that cannot be used for the upper noble layer of the engineered flooring.

The layers are bonded using water-based PVAc (Polyvinyl Acetate) vinyl adhesives. The Cadorin three-layer structure meets specific green-building criteria established by the LEED® NC Italia 2009 and GBC Home protocols.
